Incorrect statement about double circulation :

( A ) deoxygenated blood is received by the right atrium which passes on to the right ventricle
( B ) oxygenated blood is received by the left atrium which passes on to the left ventricle
( C ) the ventricles pump it out without any mixing up, i.e., two separate circulatory pathways are present
( D ) none of the above

1 Answer

(D) is the right answer.

In birds and mammals, oxygenated and deoxygenated blood received by the left and right atria respectively passes on to the ventricles of the same sides. The ventricles pump it out without any mixing up, i.e., two separate circulatory pathways are present in these organisms, hence, these animals have double circulation.
