Among the following compounds the one that is polar and has the central atom with $SP^2$ hybridisation is

$(A)\;H_2CO_3 \\ (B)\;SiF_4 \\(C)\;BF_3 \\(D)\;HClO_2 $

1 Answer

From amongst the given compound only $H_2CO_3$ and $BF_3$ are $SP^2$ hybridised.
Out of these $H_2CO_3$ is polar whereas $BF_3$ has zero dipole moment (ie non- polar)
Hence A is the correct answer.
