A straight line through the point $A(3,4)$ is such that its intercept between the axis is bisected at A. Its equation is

$\begin{array}{1 1}(A)\;x+y=7\\(B)\;3x-4y+7=0 \\(C)\;4x+3y=24 \\(D)\;3x+4y=25 \end{array}$

1 Answer

A is the mid point of PQ
$\large\frac{a+0}{2}$$=3=> a=6$
$\large\frac{0+b}{2}$$=4=> b=8$
Equation of the line is $\large\frac{x}{6}+\frac{y}{8}=1$
Hence C is the correct answer.
