Toolbox:
  • $\cot \theta=\pm \sqrt{cosec^2\theta-1}$
  • $cosec^2\theta-1=\cot^2\theta$
  • $(a-b)^2=a^2+b^2-2ab$
$\cot ^4\theta+\cot ^2\theta$
$\Rightarrow (\cot^2\theta)^2+\cot^2\theta$
$\Rightarrow (cosec^2\theta-1)^2+(cosec^2\theta-1)$
$\Rightarrow cosec^4\theta+1-2cosec^2\theta+cosec^2\theta-1$
$\Rightarrow cosec^4\theta-cosec^2\theta$
Hence (B) is the correct answer.
