Find the value $\tan 330^{\large\circ}$

$\begin{array}{1 1}(A)\;\large\frac{1}{\sqrt 3}&(B)\;-\large\frac{1}{\sqrt 3}\\(C)\;2&(D)\;1\end{array} $

Toolbox:
  • $\tan (360^{\large\circ}-\theta)=-\tan \theta$
  • $\tan 30^{\large\circ}=\large\frac{1}{\sqrt 3}$
$\tan 330^{\large\circ}=\tan (360^{\large\circ}-30^{\large\circ}$)
$\Rightarrow -\tan 30^{\large\circ}$
$\Rightarrow -\large\frac{1}{\sqrt 3}$
Hence (B) is the correct answer.
