A charge $Q \mu C$ is placed at the centre of a cube. What is the electric flux coming out from any one surface?

1 Answer

By Gauss’s theorem
Total flux through cube $\phi =\large\frac{q}{\in_0}$
Charge is present at the centre therefore; electric flux is distributed symmetrically in all directions.
Flux linked with one face $= \large\frac{1}{6} $$ \phi $
$\qquad= \large\frac{1}{6} \bigg( \large\frac{q}{\in_0} \bigg) $
$\qquad= \large\frac{q} {6 \in _0}$
Hence A is the correct answer.
