If a matrix has 5 elements, write all possible orders it can have.

Toolbox:
  • A matrix having m rows and n columns of the order $m\times n$
Step 1:There are two matrices with 5 elements of order $1\times 5,5\times 1$.Hence two types of matrices exists.
(i) Column matrix
(ii) Row matrix
Step 2:Column matrix $\rightarrow$A matrix is said to be column matrix ,if it has only one column.
Order$\Rightarrow m\times 1\Rightarrow 5\times1$
Step 3:Row matrix $\rightarrow $ A matrix is said to be row matrix ,if it has only one row.
Order$\Rightarrow 1\times n\Rightarrow 1\times5$
