A storage battery contains a solution of $H_2SO_4$ 38% by weight. At this concentration, van't Hoff factor is 2.50. At what temperature will the battery contents freeze? ($K_f = 1.86^{\large\circ} mol^{–1}$ kg)

$\Delta T_f=\large\frac{1000\times K_f\times W_2}{W_1\times M_2}$
$\Rightarrow 11.633$
$(\Delta T_f)_{expt}=2.50\times 11.633=29.05$
F.P. = 273 – 29.08 = 243.92$^{\large\circ} K = – 29.08^{\large\circ}$C
Hence (A) is the correct answer.
