Toolbox:
  • Formula used to solve this problem $P(A\cup B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A\cap B)$
$P(A)=\large\frac{1}{3}$
$P(B)=\large\frac{1}{5}$
$P(A\cap B)=\large\frac{1}{15}$
$\therefore P(A\cup) B=P(A)-P(B)-P(A\cap B)$
$\Rightarrow \large\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{5}-\frac{1}{15}$
$\Rightarrow \large\frac{5+3-1}{15}$
$\Rightarrow \large\frac{7}{15}$
Hence (A) is the correct answer.
