The accompanying venn diagram shows three events A,B and C,and also the probabilities of the various intersections (for instance $P(A \cap B)=0.07$).Determine $P(A\cap \bar{B})$

$\begin{array}{1 1}(A)\;0.13\\(B)\;0.10\\(C)\;0.33\\(D)\;0.43\end{array} $

Can you answer this question?

Toolbox:
  • $P(A \cap \bar{B})=P(A)-P(A \cap B)$
$P(A \cap \bar{B})=P(A)-P(A \cap B)$----(1)
According to venn diagram
P(A)=0.20
$P(A \cap B)=0.07$
Substituting these values in (1) we get
$P(A \cap \bar{B})=0.20-0.07=0.13$
Hence (A) is the correct answer.
