  • $P(A\cup B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A \cap B)$
Given :
$P(A \cup B)=0.96$
$\therefore 0.96=0.73+0.13-P(A \cap B)$
$\Rightarrow P(A \cap B)=0.73+0.13-0.96$
$\Rightarrow 0.86-0.96$
$\Rightarrow -0.10$
The probability cannot be negative.
$\therefore$ The statement is False.
