Two resistances $R_1=50 \pm 1\;ohm$ and $R_2=100 \pm 3\;ohm$ are connected in series. Assuming the errors to be limiting error , find the equivalent resistance with error.

$\begin{array}{1 1}(A)\;0.0153 ohm \\(B)\;150 \pm 4\; ohm \\(C)\;0.98\pm 3 \;ohm \\(D)\;2.5\;ohm \end{array} $

$R=R_1+R_2$
$\qquad= (50 \pm 1)ohm +(100 \pm 3) ohm$
$\qquad=(50 +100) ohm \pm (1+3)ohm$
$\qquad= 150 \pm 4 \;ohm$
Hence B is the correct answer.
