A message signal of frequency 12 kHz and peak voltage of 20 volts is used to modulate a carrier of frequency 12 MHz and peak voltage of 30 volts. Determine (a) modulation index, (b) the side bands produced and (c) bandwidth of modulated wave.

Modulation Index = $\large\frac{E_m}{E_c} $$ = \large\frac{20}{30} $$ = 0.67$
Side bands are at $(12 \pm 0.012 \; MHz) = 12.012 \;MHz$ and $11.988 \;MHz$
Bandiwdth $ = 2v_m = 2 \times 12 = 24\;kHz$
