A binary liquid solution of chloroform and acetone is prepared.Which of the following statements correctly represents the behaviour of this liquid solution?

$\begin{array}{1 1}\text{The solution formed is an ideal solution}\\\text{The solution formed is nonideal solution with positive deviations from Raoult's law}\\\text{The solution formed is nonideal solution with negative deviations from Raoult's law}\\\text{Chloroform exhibits positive deviation whereas acetone exhibits negative deviation from Raoult's law}\end{array} $

Answer : The solution formed is nonideal solution with negative deviations from Raoult's law
Escaping tendencies of both chloroform and acetone decrease as compared to an ideal solution. The solution exhibits negative deviations from Raoult's law. This is primarily due to more attraction between chloroform and acetone (because of hydrogen bonding) as compared to those existing separately between chloroform and acetone molecules.
