Rank the following sets of atoms and ions in order of increasing size: Fe, Fe$^{2+}$, Fe$^{3+}$

1 Answer

Answer: Fe > Fe$^{2+}$ > Fe$^{3+}$

The Fe atom with no charge is larger than the Fe$^{2+}$ ion and the Fe$^{3+}$ ion is smaller with a +3 charge compared to the Fe$^{2+}$ ion.
