The Van't Hoff factor of acetic acid in water will be

$\begin{array}{1 1} \text{equal to one} \\ \text{equal to two} \\ \text {in between one and two } \\ \text{more than two} \end{array} $

Answer :in between one and two
Acetic acid ionizes as $CH_3COOH \rightleftharpoons CH_3COO^{-}+H^{+}$
$CH_3COOH = 1- \alpha$
$CH_3COO^{-}= \alpha$
$H^{+}=\alpha$
It produces $(1+\alpha)$ species from one $CH_3COOH$.
Since $\alpha< 1$ the van't hoff factor will lie in between 1 and 2
