A sailboat acceleration uniformly from $6.0\;m/s$ to $ 8.0 [N]$ at a rate of $0.50\;m/s^2$. What distance does the boat travel ?

$\Delta d= \large\frac{v_f^2- v_i^2}{2a_{av}}$
$\qquad= \large\frac{\bigg( 8.0 \frac{m}{s} \bigg)^2- \bigg( 6.0 \large\frac{m}{s} \bigg)^2}{2 \bigg( 0.50 \large\frac{m}{s^2} \bigg)}$
$\qquad= \large\frac{(64-36)\Large\frac{m^2}{s^2}}{1 \Large\frac{m}{s^2}}$
$\Delta d= 28 \;m$
The boat travels a distance of 28 m
