A particle is moved along the $x$-axis by a force which measures $\large\frac{10}{(1+x)^2}$ at a point $x$ feet from the origin.Find the work done (in ft-lb) in moving a particle from the origin to a distance of 9ft.

Answer : 9ft-lb
W=$\int\limits_0^9\large\frac{10}{(1+x)^2}$$dx$
$\;\;\;=-\large\frac{10}{1+x}\bigg|_0^9$
$\;\;\;=-1-(-10)$
$\;\;\;=9$ft-lb
