Q)

Explain : how Newtons corpuscular theory predicts the speed of light in a medium , say water, to be greater than the speed of light in vacuum. Is the prediction confirmed by the experimental determination of speed of light in water ? If not , which alternative picture of light is consistent with experiment ?

$\begin{array}{1 1} \text{Yes, the prediction of Newton's theory is consistant with the experimental result . } \\ \text{No, the prediction of Newton's theory is opposite to the experimental result } \\ \text{The prediction of Newton's theory could not be verified by experimental result } \end{array} $
