In an aquarium two herbivorous species of fishes are living together feeding on phytoplanktons. As per the Gauss’s principle, one of the species is to be eliminated in due course of time, but both are surviving well in the aquarium. Give possible reasons.

 Conditions favoured abundant growth of phytoplankton

 There is no zooplankton.

 The number of two species of fish is very small.

 There is no multiplication  of fish.
