A)
A protein that is capable of speeding up a chemical reaction. Is called enzyme.Enzymes are another type of protein, and these molecules catalyze the biochemical reactions that occur in cells. They speed up reactions by providing an alternate reaction pathway of lower activation energy. Like all catalysts, enzymes take part in the reaction - that is how they provide an alternate reaction pathway.
