One of the remarkable properties of the eye is the ability of the eye to observe distinctly the objects situated at widely different distance from the eye. This property of the eye is called accommodation or power of accommodation of the eye. <br>
The accommodation of the eye is due to the action of ciliary muscles holding the eye lens. For observing distance objects (say at infinity) the ciliary muscles are relaxed. The eye lens is thin and it has maximum focal length and minimum converging power. The image of the distance object is formed on the retina.
